Agenda @ Huntington Beach Hyatt

Didnt get to take much picture over at the Agenda show (July 22-23)... But I got some snaps of the amazing Alpinestars display at the entrance.  Mark Arcenal(Fatlace) had his newly finished Rukus done by Brandon at Bowls.  Also on display was a Ducati Desmosedici RR!  And what looks like to be Casey Stoners(2007 world champ) Suit.
Alpinestars NEVER lacks in details... As you can see here they even went about using a Beta tool box.  If you were at Agenda, you probably seen or heard of the insane pieces Alyasha (Stack-Aly) did with Alpinestars... The talk of the town!
I'm still blown away that Alpinestars used my motorcycle in their booth.  While I was racing motorcycles in my teens, I could have only dreamt of owning anything Alpinestars... Always been a huge fan.
Also on display  in their booth was Sal Barbiers (SLB) racing suit.   Really cool that hes going out to the dry lakes and running his 53 Ford.

Its really neat to see companies like Alpinestars do refreshing things.  Probably no one else could pull off what they are doing since the company has such a rich motorsport/apparel history.  Been around since 1963.  Outfitting some of the most famous racing legends.

Thank goodness for blogs

I got these photos of the cb77 from some really cool sites/blogs.  I'm sure youve probably seen, heard or know about them already.  Right??

This first one is from the one and only Chopper Dave.  Not only does he have an awesome website, he also builds some of the coolest bikes around.  Fabrication and casting is second to none.
The next two photos are from the Blue Collar Moto blog.  I dont personally know Chris, but going off of his blog, He seems like a RAD guy.
Thanks for the photos guys

One out of three

Actually made to 1 of the three things I set out to do last weekend.  But added a few to make it just as rad or more.
Saturday night Michelle and I went to Speedway Spring classic in Costa Mesa.  Got there a bit late and my camera (or me)  takes the worst action pictures at night ever.   Good racing, sidecars, and kids tearing shit up made up for an awesome night. Enjoy the blurry pictures.

Woke up early on Sunday to meet up with Vintage honda motorcycle god, Bill Silver.  Picked up some of his restoration and everything about CB77 Superhawk books and a bunch of rare parts for my project.  He also gave me a break down on my own CB77.  Apparently the Colorway/Year/Engine type is rare...  Great to know since I had already stripped it down and sand blasted the frame.
Anyways, since i was in San diego, I went to see Alyasha and Jay in downtown.  Jay had extra tickets to the Redbull air race but instead, Aly and I tried to get some brakes on his bicycle.
We went to Ace hardware and made up some mounts for the calipers.  Jay came back to give us the tutorial on those things.
Also got some time in to work on the CB77.  Frame almost ready for the powder coat.

Widdling wood

Since i can remember, both of my parents have been amazing at building things.  House extensions, furniture, etc... Whatever it was, they had it covered.  Luckily as a kid, they got me Legos  to possibly carry on some technique.
In the 8th grade i had Wood shop/Industrial arts.  It was the first time using industrial size machines.  I loved it.  Our main project was to build Co2 cartridge race cars.  They were made of wood with a hole in the back for the cartridge.  Probably the best school projects ever... Especially since we raced them at the end of the year.
Using the skills learned from life, here is the buck/template for the seat/tail section I'm building.  It'll probably be made of .063" and .090"  3003 Aluminum.

Closer...

The gas tank is getting closer to being done... A LOT more finishing work needed.

Almost time to start the seat!

RC171 fuel tank...

Sort of.  Not exactly.  Building an aluminum gas tank for an on going personal project.  A 1961 CB77 superhawk to be exact.  Trying to replicate (with some updates) 1960's Grand Prix motocycles.  Hope to get this project going so I can race in the AHRMA vintage race in April.
Should have made a wooden buck for consistency... But oh well. I think it should be ok.

Forgot to take pictures of building these parts. Wheeled, shrunk, stretched,  radius rolled and welded aluminum. Bottom tunnel- 5052 .090".  Sides- 3003 .063".  I'll try to take more pictures as I go.
